Today, for the 3rd day of your trip to Canada, go hiking on Sulfur Mountain. The trail winds its way through a picture-postcard setting, and its summit offers a breathtaking view of the region. You can also climb the mountain by cable car.

From 1867, the ranch played an important role in the development of the region as a post house serving miners and trappers traveling on the legendary Cariboo Wagon Road, once called “the eighth wonder of the world”.
You take the Freedom Highway, the only road heading east. The spectacular gravel track leads partly on one track, to the Heckman pass at 1524 m alt. Bella Coola is at the other end of Highway 20 to Williams Lake. This is the only road leading to the town. From Bella Coola, BC Ferries sail to Bella Bella, then along the Inner Passage coast to Port Hardy and Prince Rupert. Bella Coola is located 100 km inland from the Pacific, giving it a temperate, sunny climate. The Bella Coola valley is ideal for hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching, horseback riding, mountain biking and helicopter tours.
