Welcome and transfer from airport to hotel.

You’ll be welcomed into your luxury, charming hotel in a calm, elegant and warm setting, with its tropical garden and breathtaking scenery overlooking the rice paddies of Antananarivo. You’ll stay in one of our 4 large suites or 8 smaller air-conditioned suites, each decorated differently.

Day 2: Antanarivo / Diego Suarez

Transfer to your flight to Diego-Suarez. Welcome by your guide at the airport. Visit of the city with its colonnaded houses and port. Evening at your hotel.

Day 3: Diego Suarez, the 3 bays

Hiking and discovering the 3 Bays. Short transfer by car to the village of Ramena, followed by a short hike to discover the 3 Bays: Baie des Dunes, Baie des Pigeons and Baie des Sakalava. An easy walk on fine white sand in a splendid setting to discover this eastern part of Diégo. Swimming is possible at Baie des Pigeons. At the end of the walk, we arrive at Baie des Sakalava, a famous kite surfing spot. Picnic lunch on the beach. In the afternoon, return to the hotel.

Specific information: Duration, approx. 2h30 walk/Distance: 30km

Day 4: Amber Mountain Park / Ankarana

Day trip to Montagne d’Ambre National Park. It is a Quaternary volcanic complex covering an area of 300,000ha. Its rich flora and fauna make it one of the most visited parks in the North. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll discover this site of major botanical interest along the Thousand Trees Trail, from lichens to orchids, from different species of palm to “strangler” ficus and even the ramy, an endemic tree whose sap gives off a strong smell of turpentine. The animals are not to be outdone, with 11 species of lemur living in the park, including the crowned lemur, the Sanford’s lemur and the tuberculated Brookesia, one of the world’s smallest chameleons (barely 3 cm in size, tail included), so small that it takes our guide’s trained eye to spot it. The uroplate, a flat gecko nicknamed the king of camouflage because of its ability to blend in with the bark of the tree on which it hangs, will also be present. Picnic lunch at Station forestière des Roussettes. Afternoon transfer to Ankarana.

Duration: +/- 4 hours walking in the forest. Distance: 170 km.

Day 5: Ankarana

Starting out from the hotel, take a series of accessible, adapted and fun trails to reach a dreamlike setting: the immensity of the limestone massif contrasting with the surrounding greenery.

Specific information: Duration, approx. 3 hours’ walking.

Day 6: Ankarana / Ankify

Departure for Mahamasina, heading south on the Nationale 6. From the village of Sadjoavato, we make a short detour to the village of Irodo to visit the Red Tsingy. Made up of sandstone, limestone, marl and laterite rich in iron oxide (which gives them their red color), the Tsingy rouges are the result of erosion on soil of different strata exposed by deforestation. This surrealistic site is particularly exotic and can be visited on foot. In the afternoon, we drive back to Ankify, a village by the sea. You’ll discover coffee, ylang ylang and cocoa plantations along the way.

Specific information: Duration, approx. 1hr walk in the Red Tsingy. Distance: 220km / Duration: +/- 4h00

Day 7: Ankify / Nosy Be

After breakfast, we board a speedboat. Nosy Be, or “the big island”, is the best-known of the Malagasy islands. Also known as the perfume island, Nosy Be alternates between ylang-ylang, sugar cane, coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, pepper and other spices. Arrive at Hell Ville port, then transfer by cab to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

Specific information: Sailing time, +/- 45min.

Days 8 to 11: Nosy Be

Numerous activities are available from the hotel, including water sports, fishing, island and sea tours, and motorcycle and bicycle rentals. Your host’s reception will be able to advise and direct you for all these activities. At the end of the day, you can take a walk to Mount Passot, which offers superb views over the whole island at sunset, or simply relax by the sea.

Day 11: Nosy Be / Antananarivo

Transfer by cab to the airport for your return flight to Antananarivo. Welcome at the airport and assistance for the return flight to France. Arrival the next day.
