Days 1 and 2 : Bergen

Enjoy your trip to Norway ! Arrive and settle in for 2 nights in central Bergen. Free time to explore the city at your own pace.

Your journey begins in Bergen, founded in 1070 and capital of Norway for many years. Few cities in the world can boast an urban landscape nestled between seven peaks and the sea.

Day 3 : Bergen, Departure of the cruise

After boarding (around 9:30pm), you’ll be treated to a tasty buffet dinner made from the finest ingredients on the coast. You’ll sail north of Bergen along the Hjeltefjord. Thus, you will begin your cruise in Norway by following the same route as the Vikings once sailed to the Shetland Islands and beyond. You’ll be heading for the Far North. You can spend the rest of the evening relaxing and taking in the scenery from the deck or the panoramic lounge.

Day 4 : Florø – Molde, the beauty of the Fjords

If you wake up early, you’ll have the chance to see Hornelen (860m above sea level) and the Nordjord landscape. To pass the West Cape, we will sail offshore for the first time on this cruise in the fjords of Norway.

The ship weaves its way between islands and reefs before arriving in Ålesund. Characterized by its many spires, towers and ornate buildings, Ålesund is renowned for its magnificent art nouveau architecture.

Molde is known as the “city of roses”. This attractive coastal town also enjoys exceptional views of 222 mountain peaks, known as the “Molde Panorama”.

Day 5 : Kristiansund – Rørvik, discover the old capital

Trondheim, formerly called Nidaros, was founded in 997 CE by the Viking king Olav Tryggvason, and became Norway’s capital from 1030 to 1217.

All year round, you can also explore Trondheim by kayak, at sea level along the River Nid, or discover the city by bike and try the world’s only bicycle elevator from April to September. Join the expedition team on an optional hike to discover Trondheim’s surroundings.

In the afternoon, the ship heads northwest, passing the magnificent Kjeungskjær lighthouse, numerous charming islets and rocky outcrops. After passing through the very narrow Stokksund Strait, the ship heads for the charming village of Rørvik.

Day 6 : Brønnøysund – Svolvær, crossing the invisible border

Today, the cruise will take you past the Arctic Circle ! This invisible boundary at 66° 33′ North marks the southernmost point for the Midnight Sun, which shines permanently throughout the summer.

North of this line, the chances of seeing an aurora borealis in winter are also high. This is where the Arctic begins. If this is your first time sailing in Arctic waters, you can take part in an on-deck ceremony to celebrate crossing the Arctic Circle during the day.

This Norway cruise continues along the beautiful coast of Helgeland, which many consider to be just as spectacular as the Lofoten Islands.

Day 7 : Stokmarknes – Skjervøy, the wilderness

Get ready for a day full of exhilarating activities! In the morning, you’ll disembark briefly at Risøyhamn, Harstad and Finnsnes. The ship then continues on to Tromsø, “Capital of the Arctic”, for an extended stay. Many epic Arctic expeditions have chosen Tromsø as their starting point. Join a winter “Polar History Walk” to learn more about Arctic explorers and hunters, and taste beer made at the world’s most northerly brewery.

Day 8 : Øksfjord – Berlevåg, North Cape

Enjoy the magnificent subarctic scenery as we cross the 71st parallel on our journey to the North Cape, one of the most northerly points on the European continent.

After a brief early-morning stop in Hammerfest, you’ll arrive in Havøysund, where you can disembark for an optional excursion aboard a RIB, a semi-rigid boat, and see the North Cape from the sea. You can then disembark to visit the world’s most northerly fishing village, before a bus takes you to the North Cape for spectacular views.

Day 9 : Båtsfjord – Kirkenes, Northbound (End of cruise)

The views become increasingly spectacular as you approach Kirkenes. You’ll arrive near Vadsø early in the morning and then, just after breakfast, in Kirkenes, at 30° East, further east than Istanbul and St Petersburg. This is where the Coastal Express line turns around to head back south. Kirkenes is known as the capital of the Barents Sea region, and the gateway to the East. Your disembarkation will mark the end of this spectacular cruise in the Norwegian fjords.

You will spend the rest of your stay in Kirkenes.

Days 10 and 11 : Kirkenes

Stay free in Kirkenes, we recommend you to discover the region with some wonders:

Grense Jakobselv, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, 60km northeast of Kirkenes, this small home port is only just separated from the Russian border by a riverbed.

The Pasvik Valley stretches for a hundred kilometers to the south of the municipality, forming a divide between Russia to the east and Finland to the west. The Pasvik River is the main border with Russia, stretching 196km in length. The Pasvik reserve is particularly popular for its flora and fauna in both summer and winter. This is where most of Norway’s bear population has settled.

You can also explore the Øvre Pasvik National Park. Snowmobile excursions are available by the day (please consult us).

Day 12 : Kirkenes – Departure for France

You will enjoy the last moments of your trip to Norway before your return flight to France.
