Days 1 and 2: Podgorica / Danilovgrad

Arrive at the airport and collect your vehicle from the rental counter. Then off to Danilovgrad, a small town less than 30 minutes from the airport.

You’re in the hinterland, the mountainous region of Montenegro. You can choose to relax at the hotel and take in the breathtaking views. And it’s right on the way to the country’s largest Orthodox sanctuary that the hotel you’ll be staying in has been opened. Located on the Ostrog – Ždrebaonik spiritual road. This hotel with its symbolic name is perched on a 250-metre-high cliff, from which the monastery can be seen.

What to see / What to do :

Lake Biograd in the heart of the national park of the same name; a trip to Kolasin, a village founded in the 17th century, a foray into one of Europe’s last “virgin” forests, covering some 5,400 hectares of oak, maple and fir, where birds of prey, deer and foxes, as well as bears and wolves, thrive. Several hikes are possible around Kolasin; Lake Skagar, halfway between sea and mountains.

Days 2 and 3: Kotor

Drive to the typical, gentle town of Kotor, surely one of the best-known in the country. Nestled between the mountains and the coast, on the border with Croatia, a little jewel case of life behind its rock ramparts, with its fortress overlooking the town. A tasty mix of medieval churches, cathedrals, Venetian palaces and more… Kotor is made up of contrasts, from the venerable squares with their modern cafés, the scent of traditional music, the echo of the footsteps of visitors and locals walking down the cobbled streets and the purring of lazy cats – which you can see everywhere, under the balconies.

Your hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city, so you’ll be able to take in all the atmosphere. He himself is faithful to these contrasts of modernity and antiquity.

What to see / What to do :

Visit the Old Town and its Sea Gate, the Place d’Arme and St. Tryphon’s Cathedral, the Maritime Museum, St. Nicholas’ Church ; Climb to the Citadel of San Giovanni de Kotor ; Cross over to Perast, the fishing village. enjoy a baklava with pomegranate syrup.

What to see / What to do :

Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkans, with its shores divided between two borders: Montenegro and Albania. It’s a protected area, not least because of the many bird species that thrive there. You can also opt for an “art of living” day with a visit to the village of Bar and the vineyards of Ulcinj (several wine cellars invite you to taste). Or treat yourself to a moment of idleness on Ada beach, and lunch in one of the picturesque taverns of Stari Bar or Bojana.
