Day 1 : Arrival in Colombo

Enjoy your trip to Sri Lanka ! Private transfer from the airport to your hotel where you will stay for one night at Moss Colombo in the city center.

Day 2 : Colombo

It would be a shame to miss a visit to Colombo, the capital with its three must-see districts: Cinammon Garden for its colonial feel, Slave Island for its temples and Pettah, the most authentic. Must-sees include Independence Square, Viharamahadevi Park, Gangaramaya Temple, Seema Malaka Temple and Jami-ul-Alfar Mosque.

Day 3 : Colombo / Anuradhapura

For this 3rd day of your trip to Sri Lanka take the road with your private driver who will pick you up from your hotel for ANURADHAPURA in the north of the country. You can visit the archaeological site by tuk tuk or bicycle.

You’re on a Buddhist site, so it’s best to bring respectful clothing that covers your legs and shoulders, as well as taking off your shoes and hat. Highlights include Usurumuniya temple, Sandahiru Seya, Sri Maha Bodhi, Jethawanaramaya museum, Ruwanwelisaya Dagoba, Thuparamaya dagoba, Eth Pokuna…

You won’t have time to get bored with all the things to see on this site.

Day 4 : Anuradhapura / Dambulla

Hit the road for a short one-hour drive to Dambulla. Dambulla is at the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. Don’t miss its Golden Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its vegetable market, the largest in Sri Lanka, and its sacred caves. The sigiriya, the fortress of the mad king Kashyapa. Finally, a private tour of the island’s ancient capital Polonnaruva by tuk tuk.

Day 5 : Dambulla

Continue your tour of the region that you didn’t have time to do the day before.

Day 6 : Dambulla / Kandy

A 2 hour drive from Dambulla further south, Kandy in the center of Sri Lanka. You’ll discover its artificial lake and my great concentration of temples and sanctuaries. Kandy is considered the island’s religious capital.

Kandy’s most important temple is the Temple of the Tooth, the International Buddhist Museum, the Museum of Archaeology, Temple Square…

Day 7 : Kandy

Continuation of your visits in and around Kandy with your private driver.

Day 8 : Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

Continue your tailor-made trip to Sri Lanka and head to Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed “Little England”, a 2.5 hour drive from Kandy.

Visit the favorite resort of English settlers at 1900 meters altitude. Stroll around Lake Gregory and Victoria Park. Take a tour of a tea factory, a local specialty imported by the English.

Day 9 : Nuwara Eliya

On the program: bambarakanda falls, the highest waterfalls in the country at 263 metres. Rendezvous with a local guide for a short hike through the pine forest with its surprising scenery. The natural basin at the foot of the waterfall doubles as a swimming pool.

Day 10 : Nuwara Eliya / Yala

Next stop, Yala, a 3h30 drive away, where you’ll discover Yala National Park.

This is your first Safari experience in Sri Lanka, home to several ecosystems.

Days 11 and 12 : Yala / Tangalle

Visit Tangalle and its small fishing port, with all its colorful boats. Tangalle beach stretches for several kilometers. Take advantage of your 3 days to go for a walk and relax on the beach. Rent a canoe for a trip through the mangroves. Take a tuk tuk to visit the small town of Tangalle with its port and small market. Don’t miss the rock temple of Mulkirigala, a Buddhist temple perched atop a rock. The site is made up of 7 temples sheltered in the caves of a rocky cliff. Here you’ll discover Buddha statues, colorful frescoes and sculptures.

Road to Tangalle. Settle into your hotel for three nights.

Day 13 : Tangalle / Colombo / Return flight

Your trip to Sri Lanka is now coming to an end. Private transfer with your driver to Colombo where your return flight awaits.
