Suggested activity/route :
Continue your trip to Chile with an early morning departure towards the Torres del Paine National Park. First stop : the Milodon caves, a natural monument where you can see the archaeological remains of the area’s ancient inhabitants. There are three caves, the largest measuring 30 metres in height and 200 metres in length. The interest of the site lies in the discovery in 1896 of the remains of a prehistoric animal, a giant herbivore that inhabited the region and disappeared 10,000 years ago.
Then drive to Torres del Paine Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978. You can choose between 2 entrances to the park: to the Amarga lagoon to the east, or to the Rio Serrano to the south. Enjoy a panoramic view of the famous Paine Towers, long blocks of impressive granite.
Along the way, you’ll discover some of the park’s most beautiful lakes: Nordenskjold, Pehoe and the Salto Grande waterfall (the walking tour takes around 45 minutes). Drive to Grey Lake for a glimpse of the glacier. Panoramic view of the Paine massif and its glacier, as well as the Paine horns. This park will amaze you with its massif and turquoise lakes.
