Costa Rica

Pura Vida!

Here, the little lung of the world! Costa Rica accounts for 4 to 5% of the world’s biodiversity. A largely unspoilt environment that’s so pleasant to live in.

Conquer the region’s volcanoes: Arenal, Miravalles, and cross the suspension bridges over the caldera. Cross the rainforest on horseback or on foot, and sleep in a tree house.

Further south, meet the country’s still-existing communities: the Bribris, in the Talamanca mountain range. Today, there are still! large communities, which unfortunately represent less than one percent of the country’s total population.

Lovers of diving and lounging will be delighted on the Pacific or Caribbean coast, where they can meet turtles and dolphins…

Santé

The quality of healthcare in the country varies, sometimes falling far short of European standards, and for serious health problems, it is preferable to seek treatment in the private sector in San José, which is of good quality. The cost of care is very high, and a deposit is required on admission. In addition, except for emergency treatment, care is not free, even within the Costa Rican social security network.

To cope with the sometimes very high cost of hospitalization and health care abroad, we strongly recommend that you take out an assistance contract or insurance to cover all medical expenses.

Formalités

French nationals do not need a visa for a stay of less than 90 days. However, they must present a passport in good condition and valid for 6 months after the date of return. They must also have a return or onward ticket to another destination.

For other nationalities, we’ll be happy to help you with all the formalities.
