Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory for travellers from Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Angola, as well as for entry into Colombian national parks.
It is recommended, since April 1, 2017, when traveling in the following departments and municipalities:
– Departments: Amazonas, Arauca, Caquetá, Casanare, Cesar, Guanía, Guaviare, La Guajira, Meta, Putumayo, Vichada and Vaupes.
– Municipalities: Santa Marta, Cienaga and Aracataca in Magadalena, Convencion, El Tarra, Teorama, Sardinata, Tibu, El Zulia, Hacari, San Calixto and the Catatumbo area in Norte de Santander, Riosucio, Carmen del Darien, Jurado, Nuqui and Unguia in Choco, Dabeidia, Mutata,Turbo and Yondo in Antioquia.
This vaccination must be carried out at an approved international vaccination center at least ten days before departure.

Depending on local travel conditions, vaccinations against typhoid fever and viral hepatitis A and B may be recommended.
Vaccination against rabies may also be advisable in certain cases, depending on the conditions and location of your stay. Ask your doctor or an international vaccination center for advice.
Tourists with a return ticket can obtain a 90-day visa on arrival at the airport. This visa can be renewed by paying a fee to the Direccion de Extranjeria.
The Colombian authorities impose heavy fines on illegal travellers, including those who enter the country on a tourist visa and engage in lucrative activities.
