Up-to-date vaccinations:
Risk of Japanese encephalitis (viral infection transmitted by infected Culex mosquitoes) from July to October.
Vaccination is recommended during the risk period in the following situations: stays with significant exposure to the outdoors (camping, cycling…).
Protection against mosquito bites is recommended.
Nationals of France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada can stay in Japan for up to 3 months without requiring a visa, provided they are traveling for tourism and not for profit. A so-called tanki-taizai visa (temporary residence visa) will be issued on arrival. A valid passport is all you need for your trip (valid at least until the end of your stay). For other nationalities, we’ll be happy to help you with all the formalities.
