PARINTINS FOLK FESTIVAL

The Parintins Folk Festival is a popular festival held annually the last weekend of June in the city of Parintins, Amazonas. The festival is an outdoor display, where the two competing guilds, the Boi guaranteed, red and blue Ox capricious. The presentation takes place in Bumbódromo (Sports and Cultural Center Amazonino Mendes), a type of stadium-shaped stylized ox head, with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. During the three nights of two oxen explore thematic and regional legends, rites and customs of indigenous riparian through allegory and drama. Parintins Festival has become one of the largest publishers of local culture.
