Visit the floating islands of Uros Titilaka when entering or as a tour of the afternoon. Located in the National Reserve of the Bay of Puno, the islands are made of totora reeds. They are the houses of the Uros community which pre-dates the Inca civilization. They call themselves kot-suna or people who claim to have the lake the "black blood" as they are therefore immune to the cold. They see themselves as owners of the lake and its waters. They live on the islands, to make a living by fishing, weaving and the introduction of foreign visitors to their lifestyle.
