Nestled in the woods surrounding Lake Placid, New York, The Whiteface Lodge is located in the heart of the Adirondacks just outside the village of Lake Placid, which was the site of the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980 and is about 15 or 20 minutes from Whiteface Mountain. When you arrive to the Whiteface Lodge you are wrapped in the comfort of a typical Adirondack lodge. Valet parking (free) significant the high level of service. The luxurious décor reminiscent of the traditional Adirondack rustic camps and elegance of the previous years, the concierge 24 hours/24, to check if you need more ice, a turndown in the evening with a couple of really delicious cookies and a new water bottle at bedtime: all your needs are anticipated. Our one-bedroom suite with king size bed, was warmly decorated in Adirondack style, complete with a bath and shower and a whirlpool tub. One very interesting and unexpected in the bathroom has underfloor heating. The fully equipped kitchen includes stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. From the living room there is a beautiful view of the peaks of the Adirondacks. The gas fireplace in the cozy living room and above it was a flat-screen TV, and another in the bedroom. The Whiteface Lodge is a perfect retreat for couples and families and that you will not forget anytime soon. As a basis to enjoy skiing at Whiteface and winter events in Lake Placid, your only regret will probably be that you have to go home.
