Welcome to Italy’s Veneto region. The Veneto region alternates between alpine zones, hills and plains crossed by canals and major rivers. With Venice, the beautiful and famous city of the Doges, as its capital, it’s easy to see why the wealth of this region seems infinite. Even in the off-season, when thick fog hangs over the canals and the sun gradually reveals itself in the lagoon. Venice can be explored on foot or by vaporetto, and when tiredness sets in, travelers can take comfort in the osterias and trattorias. As evening falls, the city awakens with a vengeance as the palaces light up and the canals fall asleep. Discover its equally charming neighbors, with their art galleries, ancient churches and world-famous landmarks. Day 1: Venice-Treviso

Start your Veneto tour with the small town of Treviso. To visit Treviso is to experience a mystical land steeped in history and emotion. It’s a city full of elegance, tranquility and charm. In the past, the town was nicknamed “Marca”, a name referring to the battlefields which, at the end of the First World War, were the story of victorious moments. Treviso has thus become a city with a medieval character that conveys peace, gentleness and purity. Small canals, medieval ramparts, narrow streets – these are just some of Treviso’s charms. Take a tour of the many beautifully frescoed churches, the Piazza dei Signori, which forms the very heart of Treviso, as well as its museums, charming little parks and typical restaurants. Stay in the oldest historic residence in the city center, spread over 4 floors including a roof terrace with a splendid view, welcoming guests in the elegant atmosphere of a late 12th-century Venetian villa.

Day 2: Venice

Today, head for the famous city of the Doges. Venice, the Serenissima, is a city born of the sea and turned towards the sea, which has always fought to preserve its independence. From this glorious past, the city has preserved palaces and old mansions that today serve as museums, testifying to its superb past. Venice is a delight around every corner, a strange blend of déjà-vu and astonishing discovery, postcard and half-word, a plunge into the Middle Ages and, right down to the table, a veritable carnival for the taste buds! It’s one of the few cities in the world that always has the ability to amaze, whether you’re visiting for the first or the tenth time… Stroll through Piazza San Marco, a meeting place for tourists and locals alike, climb to the top of its campanile to overlook the canals wedged between old buildings and small squares, and take a tour of the basilica and the splendid Doge’s Palace. Once you’ve seen the best of Venice, you can discover its sounds. In the evenings, the city offers a variety of concerts and orchestras in tribute to the famous Italian composer and violinist who was born here, Vivaldi. Then find the best-sounding church to enjoy this masterpiece in peace!

Day 3: Venice

In Venice, you’ll stay in a palazzo with an elegant, peaceful ambience, direct access to the Grand Canal and a remarkable view of the Accademia Bridge. Today, discover the romantic Rialto Bridge, the sumptuous La Fenice Theatre and the Basilica of Santa Maria Della Salute, just across the street from your hotel.

Day 4: The lagoon islands

Take a boat from Venice and discover Murano, Burano and Torcello. The island of Murano is undoubtedly best known for its internationally renowned art of glassmaking and its glass museum. The island of Burano is quite unique and much appreciated for the diversity of colors of its houses and for its postcard-perfect scenery. Burano is famous for its lace industry. Finally, the third island is Torcello, the largest of the lagoon’s 3 islands and home to the oldest church. It’s the most authentic because it’s the most untouched by mass tourism.

Day 5: Padua

Leave the enchanting city of Venice today for Padua. Lurking in the shadow of its much more famous neighbor, Padua is nevertheless well worth a visit. Once famous for its university, this sumptuous city is one of the world’s most beautiful metropolises, with an impressive artistic heritage. You’ll realize this soon enough as you stroll through its delightful lanes and captivating museums. Don’t miss the Basilica of Saint-Antoine, with its impressive interior and cloister. Stay overnight in a magnificent Venetian castle in the heart of a vineyard, south of Padua.

Days 6 and 7: Verona

The Veneto region has much more to offer than just Venice. Whether you’re a traveler in love with art cities, a music lover or a history buff, you’ll be delighted by the splendors of the charming medieval city of Verona, city of Romeo and Juliet. Stroll around Piazza delle Erbe and its colorful market, and sit down at a café to savor the fresh, lively atmosphere of the city center. Take an evening tour of the ancient arena to catch the last rays of sunlight penetrating the monument’s arches.
