Welcome to Sicily, where it’s already easy to hear the name. The little piece of earth that the boot touches with its toe. Far from the clichés of the Italian Mafia, it’s here that you’ll discover historic palaces arrested by time, cliffside architecture, pure blue waters and a gentle, charming sun…

Day 2: Palermo

Discover beautiful Palermo. We suggest you visit the Abatellis Palace, the Galleria Regionale della Sicilia, the Arab-Norman monuments of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Norman Palace. The church of Santa Caterina, the catacombs of the Capuchin convent. You can also take a stroll through the historic center, where squares and historic mansions meet. Take a trip to the oriental souks, or stay in Sicily with the frittula, grattons in a crusty bun, a delicious treat! Visit the archaeological museum and its splendid collection of Greek and Phoenician art.

Day 3: Palermo / Fontanasalsa

Take the road west of Palermo, towards Frontanasalsa, about 1h30 away. On the way, stop off at the Doric temple of Segesta, one of the best preserved in Europe, and the medieval citadel of Erice.

On arrival, check into your hotel in Trapani, 8km from Fontanasalsa. Here, the Burgarella family has been cultivating olive trees for several generations, producing a famous olive oil. A quality farmhouse inn housed in an 18th-century building. You’ll enjoy home cooking, with ingredients sourced directly from the kitchen garden.

Day 4: Fontanasalsa

Today, enjoy a walk to Mount Erice to explore the marine reserve of the Egades Islands, or visit the impressive remains of the ancient Greek city of Selinunte, on the south coast.

Day 5: Fontanasalsa / Palma di Montechiaro

Head south, passing Agrigento. To the south-east of Agrigento lies the archaeological park of the Valley of the Temples, where the sanctuary of Heracles, that of Hera and the Temple of Concord bear eloquent witness to the majesty of Magna Graecia.

Arrive, then spend the night in an “Azienda” nestled in a garden of palm trees and African plants in Palma di Montechiaro. You’ll love our homemade olive oil and local produce.

Day 6: Palma di Montechiaro / Syracuse

“I’d so like to see Syracuse…”, it’s time for you!

Settle in for 2 nights at an intimate address not far from the Politeama theater, in a beautiful location on the outskirts of Syracuse. A 19th-century farmhouse with a touch of Italian design. An address where you can enjoy treatments and a restaurant serving sophisticated Sicilian cuisine.

Day 7: Syracuse

Discover beautiful Syracuse, with our visit recommendations!

Syracuse’s heritage is considerable, including the archaeological park of Neapolis, the baroque cathedral of della Nativita di Maria Santissima, the Norman-style church of San Nicolo dei Cordari, the Beneventano del Bosco palace… Stroll along the small port at the entrance to the Ortigia peninsula, then lose yourself in the stalls of the fish market, before strolling through the cathedral square at night.

Optional: (Syracuse in private) A morning in the company of a local guide to discover the essentials of the Sicilian city and its formidable Greco-Roman remains.

Day 8: Syracuse / Santa Venerina

Road to Santa Venerina.

Between sea and mountains, you’ll spend the night in an elegant retreat set on the slopes of Mount Etna. The infinity pool and spa add their hedonistic touch to this beautiful ensemble. Let your taste buds wander as you savor local cuisine concocted with vegetables from our organic garden.

Day 9: Santa Venerina (Etna)

In the morning, weather permitting, a visit to the volcano is a must. Afterwards, you can visit Taormina, where historical epochs jostle among the trees of the gardens, on the edge of sparkling bays.

Day 10: Santa Venerina / Catania – Return flight

Drive to Catania airport, pick up your rental car and fly back to France.
