Day 1: Kittila

Arrive at Kittila airport, pick up your rental car and begin your journey to Tankaavara.

There are plenty of Nordic activities for you to discover. From snowmobile safaris to reindeer or husky sleigh rides, snowshoe trekking, ice fishing, aurora borealis viewing and saunas…

Day 2: Kittila / Tankaavara

After breakfast, drive to Tankaavara (approx. 3h30)

Arriving in Tankaavara, stroll through the golden village.

Recommendations: Visit the Gold Museum, and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see iridescent clouds or the Northern Lights.

Day 3: Tankaavara / Inari

After breakfast, off to Inari. (1h20)

Larger than its neighbors, you’ll discover Inari with its museum: Sami Museum and Nature center, Pielpajarvi Wilderness church. In winter, enjoy Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides and walks around the lake.

Day 4: Inari / Enontekio / Hetta

Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Hetta (3h30).

Free day and overnight in your cottage.

Day 5: Enotekio / Akaslompolo

Today you’ll head for Akaslompolo (1h40)

Take a stroll around the town.

Day 6: Akaslompolo / Rovaniemi

Off to Rovaniemi, Santa’s hometown. Here you’ll lose yourself in a cloud of dreams and regain your childlike spirit!

Chalet full of toys and Christmas decorations, hot chocolate and a fire in the fireplace will be your decor!

AND/OR drive to Yllasjarvi, where you’ll spend the night in a hotel named Best Boutique Hotel of 2016.

Day 7: Yllasjarvi

Stay another day in this splendid hotel to recuperate from your road trip through these white lands.

Day 8: Yllasjarvi / Kittila, Departure

– Breakfast at the hotel, then off to Kittila, the final destination for your return flight and the return of your rental car.
