This is probably the best small hotel we have ever crossed, and certainly the coolest. Japanese culture has a gift for perfect grip and trends from elsewhere. It is therefore not surprising that the first boutique hotel in Tokyo is already a model of its kind. The interior design is completely avant-garde, from the entrance, designed by the British Tomato, to the bedrooms and the living room designed by a great team of Japanese designers connected. There are still some remains of the original hotel, the New Meguro (sort of sixties business hotel for the jet set), to which is added an authenticity that elevates the interiors to the rank of pure design. If you're a design fan, someone who knows who Tomato and interested, or simply the kind of person who appreciates exquisite absurdity of pet luxury lounge by the name of Dogman (serving bushy puppies since 2003), then this place is for you. Services are minimalist in style of a traditional shop, but the nightlife is perfect ... maximalist. It almost sounds like a club surrounded by bedrooms. Hotels that are seeking this effect sometimes fall into the caricature of a Disney adult club, but failed to make the idea of a club at slumber parties. This is not the case of Claska: the bar is perfect, the kind of place that makes a visit to the local population, a surprisingly large space, equipped with ultra modern furnishings and high ceilings, where Dj and drinkers take up to 4 am. We said 'make the trip, "and that's not a metaphor ... Meguro is not the ideal neighborhood for travelers or residents of Tokyo, because it is not close to the city center. If you are looking for an experience such as Lost in Translation, rather try the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku or the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi. Claska is a good taxi ride from these districts and the railway station is not very close either. But that's part of the game. This hotel is beautiful, it's probably one of our favorite city hotels, and the first low prices (about 10,500 yen, or 90 dollars for room 505, the simplest). If you wish, you can pay the same price as Yatt Park and rent one of the most impressive rooms, the 401 or the 402. No wonder the hotel is full months in advance. IF you finally get a reservation, and you get out unscathed from the trip to Meguro, you can be sure not to be disappointed. Please note: The hotel offers smoking and non-smoking. If you have a preference, thank you note in the special requests section during the booking process, or contact our customer service.
