Loiyangalani is a small town on the southern shore of Lake Turkana in Kenya. The name means "place of many trees" in the native language and Samburu is home to the El Molo, a community in danger of extinction, among other communities. Its main industries are fishing, tourism and gold mining. it is becoming a popular tourist destination in northern Kenya, as around El Molo and Turkana villages, among others, that offer unique experiences. in June 2008, the National Museums of Kenya formally opened the first and only to Loiyangalani Desert Museum, which reflects the cultures and lifestyles of eight communities living around the lakes. It is also the year the first cultural festival held to celebrate the union of all the tribes affiliated with the Lake Turkana. It will be a memorable experience to celebrate to preserve the cultures of El Molo Pokot, Samburu, Gabbra, Rendile, Watta, Dassanach, and Turkana.
