The stave church dates from 1150 and it belonged to a wealthy and powerful family. That was before a private church, belonging to a family rich and powerful. The wood was cut between 1129-1130. On the walls on the north side of the decorated parts belonging to the demolished church were used: the gate, wall charts and Cornier.
