Every year for 18 days during the full moon of October, huge boats travel from one village to another on Inle Lake, surrounded by villages on stilts, with on board the golden statues Buddha. These sacred statues visit one or more monasteries and are honored by the monks, under the gaze of the crowds marveled, they are transported pagoda pagoda decorated barges on board. The main boat, the one leading the procession, is a royal barge Karaweik representing, the golden bird of mythology Burma. This boat "sacred" is guarded by the sages and priests, and has a canopy sheltering four Buddhas of the pagoda-Daw Phaung U. This traditional festival also gives rise to racing rowers standing, dressed in traditional costumes. Their pace is fascinating. It is also an opportunity to experience the Buddhist spirituality in a unique setting. This is one of the most spectacular aquatic Southeast Asia, which attracts many visitors.
