Bahia Bustamante is part of the land of a group of three ranches that are inland from the bay: Las Quebradas, Las Mercedes and Las Margaritas. Depending on the season of the year, a field trip is organized to allow visitors to watch and/or participate in the production process of wool, lamb and mutton. Shearing, branding, weaning, classification and insemination are the periods of maximum activity. Touring the installations, the pens, the passageways, and the shearing sheds is an interesting way to understand sheep rearing and the precautions that have to be taken to make the activity profitable and obtain the best possible quality of wool and meat. The shearing of 20,000 animals begins in August and lasts five weeks. It is the ideal moment to get to know a real ranch at the peak of activity.
